If you are a bluegrass music fan, then White Lake, N. C. is the place for you to be on May 30 and 31, 2008. The Tenth Annual MelFest Bluegrass Festival will be held at Melwood Music Park, located in downtown White Lake. No effort has been spared to bring you the very best in acoustic bluegrass music. Bands scheduled to perform are: The Country Gentlemen, The Grass Cats; Carolina Road; Al Batten and the Bluegrass Reunion; Yeehaw Junction, and Carolina Sonshine. Spectators should bring their own chairs. No pets are allowed in the music park area. Wristbands must be worn at all times within the music park.
The program begins on Friday evening, May 30, at 6:00 P.M. and runs until 11:00 P. M. On Saturday, May 31 , the stage program begins at 1:00 P. M. and continues until 11:00 P. M. MelFest is always held on the weekend after Memorial Day. MelFest has grown over the years and now attracts bluegrass lovers from all over the country. The promoters strive to provide a wide variety of entertainment, from great vocals and instrumentals to bluegrass gospel to humorous performances. There is always plenty of “parking lot picking” for up and coming musicians. Admission Fee:
Friday (6:00-11:00 PM) - $20.00
Saturday (1:00-11:00 PM) - $30.00
Children under twelve admitted free when accompanied by an adult
